Lofoten Islands · Norway
Evening descends on a cool Norwegian late-summer day. I left the group on an adjacent rocky beach a couple hundred meters or so to the left, having braved electrified fence wires, camouflaged sheep turds, and algae-slickened rocks to get to the mouth of this coastal stream well before sunset and deciding to wait things out come what may. The skies didn’t quite ‘go nuclear’ as we photography types often overemphasize to the detriment of the moment-to-moment experience, but it was an undeniably revitalizing time, the gentle rhythmic wash of the low-tide surf like a metronome entraining one detoxifying breath after the other.
