I Dream in Shades of Green
Oregon · USA
I'd seen rare photos of Upper McCord Creek Falls taken from its base and have longed to explore the canyon from this vantage point, but I couldn't figure just how people got down there. Turns out, it just took braving the steep incline beyond the viewpoint from which this falls is usually captured. I've never been a huge fan of western sword fern, but they proved trustworthy handholds on the steep, crumbly descent down. The views were well worth the effort and hollowed stomach to say the least. Here, sunlight temporarily diffused by a veil of low clouds subdued the atmosphere and lent a soft greenhouse effect to the lush rainforest surroundings.
