The Howling II
Washington · USA
The reward for two creek crossings—with one of us who shall remain unnamed getting his or her boots quite wet (not guilty!)—and a 200-plus-foot stumbling traverse up a clear-cut hillside rife with disequilibrating branches and bramble was this spectacular creek that stole the show from our intended main destination, Hidden Falls. On a par with Gorton Creek in terms of photogenicity (if that’s a word), our only limitation in photographic opportunities was time, as the unexpected bushwhack set us back a bit. Definitely high on our revisit list.
