Stepping Down
Washington・USA
Horseshoe Creek dips its hooves into a charming opalescent pool after tumbling down three tiers spanning 57 feet of altitude. The trail carries most people over the footbridge above the top tier (just visible in this smaller view, clearly visible at full resolution) and on to many other pretty destinations along clear-running Siouxon Creek. I myself had been here many times before finally venturing a bit off-trail down to the foot of the falls, where its grace and complex morphology (most of it not seen in this particular angle, however) can really be appreciated. Sometimes you don't have to go that far off the beaten path to get a better view of things...just far enough.
