A solo hike down familiar stomping grounds along the Clackamas River Trail afforded me an opportunity to acquaint myself with one of several unnamed streams that play second fiddle to the always breathtaking Pup Creek Falls. On this occasion, Pup Creek was flowing strong, creating impossible conditions for capturing the falls: By the time you backed far enough away to avoid the troublesome mist, the falls were obscured by too many trees and other obstacles. So I spent some extra meditative time here, enjoying the softer rippling sounds of this gentle stream, flowing on in anonymous beauty before joining the torrent of the Clackamas River.
