Silver turns to gold as autumn ignites the deciduous red alders, vine maples, and big-leaf maples of Silver Falls State Park in a blazing patchwork of yellow and orange. Fog drifting in and out helped lend a little atmosphere to this view from atop mud-streaked South Falls, which was raging from heavy precipitation. Despite the fall color burst, Ash and I left our cameras in their bags far more than we would've liked, soaked as we were by the deluge of heavy rainfall later in the afternoon. Our mood was further dampened when we weren’t able to connect with our business school-bound ‘son’ Terence Lee for one final hike together before he heads off for Singapore, France, and parts unknown. Kids...they grow up so fast... (╥_╥)
