Memories of Ramona
Oregon · USA
Tall timbers and dappled light filtering through the forest canopy gives the area surrounding Ramona Falls (barely visible as faint sky-blue patches of whitewater in the far background) an almost cathedral air, enhanced by the soothing sounds of flowing and tumbling water. It's no wonder so many hikers and backpackers flock here as soon as the seasonal bridge is put back in place each Spring. The loop trail, which synapses with the Timberline Trail and the famed Pacific Crest Trail, spans across the bridge visible near the top middle of the image, passing directly in front of the broad falls. Under the right conditions and at the right time of day, you're rewarded with some truly mesmerizing displays of light and shadow.
You'll have to excuse me if my portfolio contains an overabundance of this falls and its surrounds. :)
