My wife Ashley pauses for a moment amongst the giants as she rounds a sunny turn along the Boy Scout Tree Trail. We were thwarted in our attempts to reach the 30-plus-foot diameter double-trunked namesake by an impassable stretch of mud and downed trees, but there were plenty of ooooohhh- and aaaaaahhh-inspiring moments in the two miles or so we managed to traverse.
