Harvest Sun
Washington · USA
I don't know what my homie has against getting a good night's sleep, but otherwise-pretty-good-guy TJ Thorne (http://www.tjthornephotography.com/) managed to convince me two weekends in a row to get up before the ass crack of dawn to shoot wildflowers in the Gorge. We were skunked both times, the first time at Columbia Hills by hurricane-force winds (who believes those wind advisories anyway, right?) and the following week at McCall Point by an uninspiring sky and yet more wind. How any of the photogs we saw shooting that day on Rowena Crest came away with something other than ticks is beyond me, but I guess that's what separates the good ones from, well, me. But anyway, I quite like this shot of the barn drenched in golden morning light I that managed to grab back at Columbia Hills because it reminds me of how a little direct sunlight on the face can mitigate the chill of a blustery wind. Alas, no shots of wildflowers or that blasted rusted car (you know the one), but it was still a fun if sleepy outing. I guess I'm a little sick in the head, too.
