Near-perfect calm greets the dawn at Trillium Lake, disrupted only slightly by early-bird fisherman drifting idly by on float tubes waiting for a bite (white speck at center). A thin veil of mist is just beginning to form along the distant right shoreline. Here I used black glass to restore some calm to the water’s surface and ‘erase’ the faster-moving fishermen from the scene. I don’t usually prefer color-toning my monochromes, but I felt the mood of this scene lent itself well to this particular tint.
