Iris x pacifica 'Blue Moment'

New to our growing collection of Pacific Coast irises is this stunner from @xeraplants called Blue Moment that inspires anything but. Although shading closer to lavender or violet to my eye (we think gardening folk are a bit funny in their overzealous regard of many purple-shaded blooms as “blue”), there is an undeniably blue streak staining the outer midlines of the falls that contrasts nicely with the purple, white, and yellow centers. In just their first season in the ground, Blue Moment already tops my list of favorite PCIs, their cool blooms lending a pleasing complement to the blue-green and chartreuse leaves of the Paul’s Glory hosta that they skirt.
