Ribes sanguineum

Last year we planted a native red currant between our oceanspray (Holodiscus discolor) and Concept birdbath from Campania International . The oceansprays were growing away from the birdbath toward the light, leaving a sizable gap that seemed to leave birds feeling a bit skittish when visiting the water. We were grateful to find this deliciously vibrant and bargain-priced gem from Pearson Nursery during Hortlandia 2022 to fill the void in the years to come and hopefully provide some increased cover and security for our beloved feathered friends in search of a splash.
