Clear blue skies can really be the bane of a landscape photographer's day, but it also helps remind me that although one looks with the eyes, one sees with the soul. Abstract water reflections are nothing groundbreaking, of course, but I've discovered that they're harder to come across (and capture) than I once imagined. On this day, a pleasantly cool and breezy hike into Indian Heaven Wilderness between Mts. Adams and St. Helens was somewhat short on grand vistas but abundantly rich in intimate nature scenes and slightly-past-their-prime huckleberries. We still managed to blue up our lips and fingertips pretty good nonetheless.
