A Star Is Born

Macros aren't my usual deal, but a mid-Spring hike to massive Falls Creek Falls was filled with magic, from a picturesque rainbow at the falls to finding an all-white fairy slipper orchid along the way. On the way back, I tried to look for more subtle details hidden in the forest and realized these woods strawberry flowers (Fragaria vesca) I'd long been glancing over harbored a bit of magic of their own in their hearts. I'd missed out on setting up the big camera to capture the white fairy slipper (caught it on my iPhone, though), and I wasn't about to let something like that happen again.
