Rise and Shine

The morning sun just clears the horizon, bathing Mt. Hood and nearby trees in golden light while the distant forest still lies in shadow. I almost packed up and left when I realized there'd be no cloud action whatsoever as had been forecast (when am I gonna learn?), but I decided to stick around and enjoy the placid pool a little while longer, just to see what the sunlight would do. Glad I did.
