A cloudless sky ushers in the day at Sparks Lake in the chill of a late October morning--yet more testament to my sucky cloud mojo. Still, the beauty and serenity of the lake could not be denied regardless of the lack of dramatic atmospheric conditions, and I decided I'd make the best of the situation with a stark composition involving a trio of rocks in the shallows. I resisted the urge to 'beef up' the color and kept things on the more muted side as the scene appeared in real life, and I think it suits the graphic quality of the image better that way. I also played around with the circular polarizer and liked the midpoint transition here from lake bottom to reflected blue sky.
