Quick, and without Googling, can you guess the song? And if you know and gotta knock me for liking sappy old-school R&B, let it fly: I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam.
Last time we were at Dry Creek Falls we decided to follow the dirt road that leads to the dam at the foot of the falls down to its source rather than hanging left back onto the Pacific Crest Trail from whence we came. Turns out the 'new' route proved much more scenic than the old, flanking the tumbling stream as it meandered down, through, and around mossy boulders strewn every which way between its fern-lined banks. Afternoon sun shone through the forest canopy of hemlock, firs, and maples at strategic moments, chasséing with the windblown foliage to set the dance floor alive with a dazzling and dynamic display of light and shadow--a visual salve that mollifies that soul. A challenging scene to photograph, to say the least, so I used about five stops of neutral density filtration here to accomplish the long-exposure effect.
