Hot Rocks
Mt. Hood from Lost Lake · Mt. Hood National Forest · Hood River · Oregon
Early morning sun floods the Lost Lake basin in a warm, golden light after clearing Lost Lake Butte and the surrounding foothills to the east. A tongue of mist can be seen licking the saddle just to the right of what I believe is Butcher Peak, a relative dwarf at 3,730 feet tall in comparison to Hood's imposing 11,249-foot stature. My buddy TJ was with me on this fine morning and got an absolutely KILLER blue-hour shot of Hood beautifully framed in foreground foliage. Be sure to check out the rest of his fantastic photography on his website!
