Color of Night
Washington · USA
Driving home from a beautiful winter hike to Cave Falls, night began to fall and earthshine brought the whole of the moon into subtle coherence. I hesitated a few moments contemplating whether to stop for the shot or just drive on through, and though I'm sure a better shot awaited me had I braked a bit earlier, I'm glad I did decide to stop at all. It's hardly the twilight shot to end all twilight shots, but it's a scene of beauty I could never have hoped to convey to anybody by any other means.
Life is sometimes like that. Maybe an opportunity passes you by, but if it comes around to you again, perhaps in another form, it's a signal to pull over a moment...ponder what you see where you are...not just what you hope to see when you get to your final destination...and share it with someone.
