Ashley and I were blessed to arrive at this Oregon natural wonder on the heels of a rainstorm that left the straw-colored hills stratified with brilliantly saturated shades of carmine and rust, while lingering cloud cover revealed the alien landscape in pleasingly softened contours and contrasts.
